Leisure & Tourism
Work throughout the day and variety shows and restaurants in the evening? The Überseestadt is a developing quarter with a wide range of leisure and tourism opportunities, consisting of events, gastronomy, culture and sport. This constantly growing choice of activities as well as the strong growth in residential space in recent years, also fills the district with life outside office hours. A lot has happened and Überseestadt is developing more and more into a lively district in which people work and live and in which more and more leisure facilities are being created.
Überseestadt is alive - and growing:
- Gastronomy
The gastronomic diversity of the Überseestadt ranges from traditional German pubs to the gourmet temple reminiscent of the Arabian Nights. Our gastro map shows where to find each restaurant, bistro, café and street vendor in the quarter.
We’ve also published a list of the entire gastronomic selection. To see the offer on the German website, please click here. - Shopping opportunities
The Überseestadt’s shops are especially centred around the Europahafen. Various retailers have established their businesses here, from supermarkets to upmarket kitchen studios. The selection is constantly expanded to meet the needs of the growing quarter. To see the offer on the German website, please click here. - Culture
Let the show begin! The GOP variety theatre in Bremen attracts visitors to the Überseestadt with a new show every six months. Everything is on the card, from acrobats and singers to magicians. If you fancy, you can also enjoy a three-course meal with the show.
Things are a bit more rough-and-ready at the HafenRevueTheater, where humorous plays are presented on the small stage – a rustic theatrical experience. To see the offer on the German website, please click here. - Events
Überseestadt is increasingly becoming a lively and popular venue for new and already high-profile events. But Überseestadt also has workshops, seminars, lectures, readings and much more to offer. Just take a look at our calendar of events on the German website here. - Life in the neighborhood
A lot of new housing has been built here in the last few years and many people of different backgrounds now live in the Überseestadt! As a result, not only has the demand for more leisure and cultural activities increased, but so has the supply! There are offers for adults, children and young people, vacation activities, open neighborhood meetings or people can meet up to play soccer, do handicrafts or cook. Here you will find a list of the various offers. - Port history you can touch
If you would like to learn about the history of the Überseestadt and particularly Bremen’s ports, the Speicher XI Harbour Museum is the right place for you. The charming museum is located in an old cotton storehouse and has kept the location’s original style. It presents the past and present in an illustrative, playful and entertaining way.
